Product Operation
How do I unfold and fold my VERTX trolley?
- Unfolding: Stand the VERTX vertically. Squeeze the slider between the front wheels to release the front chassis, rotating it until it clicks. Place the trolley on all four wheels, then extend the bag cradle fully. Press the handle release button and lift the handle until it clicks, which also deploys the stabilizer wheels.
- Folding: Remove any debris from the trolley, ensure the battery and trolley are OFF, and press the main support and handle release buttons to fold down. Secure the bag cradle, stand the trolley up, and fold the front chassis back to its stowed position.
How can I attach my golf bag securely to the VERTX?
Stand the base of your golf bag on the front chassis, lower the bag cradle fully, and rest the bag against the silicone pads. Wrap the dual strap around the bag and secure it without pulling too tight, as the silicone pads will grip the bag. Use the lower strap to secure the base of the bag.
Can the VERTX be operated manually without the remote?
No, the VERTX trolley requires the remote handset for all operations unless you engage the free-wheel function. Manual mode allows you to hold the handle for steering, but the handset is still required for controls.
What are the recommended handling points for lifting or transporting the VERTX?
For vertical carrying, lift from the center handle when folded. For horizontal carrying, lift from the rear stabilizer and front handle points, avoiding the wheel arches to prevent damage.
SmartPower Battery
How do I turn on and charge the SmartPower battery?
To turn on, press the SmartPower battery's ON button. For charging, connect the charger to the battery, then to the wall socket, and switch on the wall socket. The indicator light on the charger will turn red when charging and green when fully charged.
How long does the SmartPower battery last?
A standard SmartPower battery lasts up to 27 holes on a normal course with typical conditions. An extended capacity option can last up to 45 holes.
Can I leave the battery connected to the charger after a full charge?
Yes, if you are using the battery weekly, you may leave it on the charger. The Battery Management System (BMS) prevents overcharging. However, it’s best practice to disconnect once the green light appears.
What should I do if I am storing my battery for a long period?
For storage over a month, fully charge the battery, disconnect from the charger, and store it in a dry environment between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Recharge once a month to maintain performance.
Remote and Bluetooth Connectivity
How do I pair the remote handset with the VERTX trolley?
Press and hold the FORWARD button on the remote, then press the ON button. Hold until the handset flashes red/yellow. Turn on the trolley with the battery inserted; the handset will pair and show a solid blue light.
What do the indicator lights on the remote mean?
- Off: Remote is off.
- Blue flashing: Remote is on but not connected to the trolley.
- Solid blue: Remote is on and connected to the trolley.
- Red flashing: Remote battery is low.
What is the Bluetooth range of the VERTX remote?
The nominal Bluetooth range is up to 100 yards, but it’s recommended to keep within 25 yards to maintain control. If out of range, the trolley stops automatically.
What should I do if my remote won't connect to the trolley?
Ensure the SmartPower battery is on and has power. Check for any interference or obstructions, and try pairing again by following the steps above.
Maintenance and Care
How should I clean the VERTX?
Use a soft cloth or compressed air to clear away grass, dust, and other debris. For cleaning the surfaces, use a standard furniture polish and a soft cloth. Avoid using water, hoses, or pressure washers, as water ingress is not covered by warranty.
Can I use the VERTX in wet conditions?
Yes, the VERTX is designed for use in the rain. However, avoid puddles, standing water, or submerging the machine, as water reaching the electronics or motors could cause damage.
How do I check and maintain the battery charge?
After each use, charge the battery within 48 hours. The app allows you to check the battery level before and during use, helping you ensure enough power for your next round.
Troubleshooting
What should I do if the VERTX is not responding to remote commands?
Check if the rear wheels are in free-wheel mode, the trolley and battery switches are on, and that both the handset and battery are charged. Move closer if out of range, and ensure the battery is securely connected.
Why is the VERTX not moving in a straight line?
An unbalanced bag may cause this. Ensure your golf bag is evenly weighted from side to side. For further assistance, contact Stewart Golf support.
What should I do if the handset battery is low or won’t charge?
Charge the handset indoors using the supplied USB cable, ensuring it is turned off during charging. A fully charged handset should last up to two rounds.
What could cause the VERTX to move in circles?
This can happen if one wheel is in free-wheel mode. Check that both wheels are engaged properly with the drive system.
Usage Best Practices
How should I handle the VERTX on hills?
The VERTX’s Active Terrain Control (ATC) ensures stable movement on slopes. If the trolley tips back onto the rear stabilizer wheels, this is normal. Distribute bag weight evenly, and you may need to experiment with hill approaches based on your bag setup.
How can I maximize battery life during use?
To extend battery life, avoid overloading your golf bag, minimize steering inputs, and accelerate gradually. The app can track battery usage, helping you optimize for longer life.
What is the free-wheel function, and how do I use it?
Free-wheel mode disengages the drive, allowing you to push the VERTX manually if needed. To activate, lift one wheel, press the metallic button, and adjust the wheel position to disengage the motor.
